Darfen Solution
Over the last twelve months National Grid Competent Person installers from our Darfen Southern regional office have been working at a NationalGrid substation installing electric fencing. Carrying out the works over three separate installations was imperative so that the site could remain secure whilst works progressed. Steel palisade complete with electric fencing was supplied and installed to meet National Grids own specifications. The first phase of works involved erecting over 550m of temporary steel palisade fencing. And the further 600m of palisade was installed in phases two and three. An automated sliding gate was also installed by Darfen and was manufactured to meet the security requirements and specification of National Grid by having an electric fence mounted onto the gate. After the main installation was completed, Darfen completed the project by integrating all new and existing fencing into a brand new state of the art security system with IP and IO capacity. The installation was carried out in line with National Grid standards and BS 1722 part 17.
